We have to do something about these bots, I'm deleting handfulls of topics each day, and we still have them registered.

How about we make a custom mod to the registration that the average bot won't be able to process, IE: Are you a bot, or a check this box, or a click this button, if marked yes then include register successfull. Something that sets our process aside so the average bot won't get through.

They get through the security code. I think adding an additional registration option might help; I'll do that sometime soon.

Some forums have a section named "General" or something like that, then below that they have the real "general discussion" section. The bots go for the first one and ignore the second...

Yeah, I'm sure just a non standard registration will thwart them. I doubt they are designed intelligently enough detect and bypass custom add ons

I usually check the forums first thing in the morning (around 6 or 7 est) and end up deleting at least 1 or 2.
